At Desert Stronghold Boerboels, we are dedicated to producing exceptional South African Boerboels with outstanding temperaments, sound health, and true breed-standard structure. Every Boerboel in our breeding program is thoroughly health tested—including hips, elbows, cardiac, and full DNA panels—and each one lives with us as part of our family. Only dogs that pass all required health evaluations become part of our program, ensuring that we raise strong, reliable, and well-balanced Boerboels.

Located on 40+ acres in rural Southeast Arizona, our kennel provides the perfect farm setting for Boerboel puppies to grow, explore, and thrive. With every litter, our goal is to raise confident, stable, and family-friendly Boerboels that excel as loyal companions and natural protectors.

We use proven, science-based puppy development methods to give our litters the best possible start. Our puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), and structured exposure to new sounds, surfaces, objects, and environments during the critical early weeks of life. At 7 weeks, each puppy undergoes professional temperament testing to help match them with the right homes.

Our name, Desert Stronghold, reflects both our unique location near the historic Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mountains and the Boerboel’s innate guarding instincts. A “stronghold” is a place of strength, refuge, and protection—qualities we see in the Boerboel and value deeply. It also holds personal meaning, inspired by Psalm 18:2 where God is described as our Stronghold and Rock.
